About Phoenix
Technologies Phoenix Technologies is a division of the non-profit research institute known as the Phoenix Foundation. The Technologies division is engaged in offering the services listed below under the TECHNICAL heading.
Phoenix Technologies provides an assortment of small business services that are vital to any Small Business - Home Office (SBHO). Among these are
Our Goal There are certain tasks that are necessary to your business, yet actually pull you away from what you know and do best. We step in to fill the gaps, leaving you to concentrate on providing the products or services you went into business for in the first place. What Makes Us Different? What You Want and
Need, Thorough, Easy Planning
Avoids Surprises For more than 15 years we have provided basic bookkeeping/accounting services for doctors, songwriters and musicians, non-profit organizations, small grocery store owners and others as well as individuals. We have found that in most cases (up to $100,000 annual gross sales), Quicken™ is an excellent tool and we use it almost exclusively. Simple is elegant - and it helps keep your costs down without sacrificing quality and accuracy! Advertising, public relations and marketing From the small business to a website, anything you do in business must be carefully promoted and marketed to get your message out to the people you want to serve. While it's true there are some major differences between online and "real-world" marketing, these differences are still built on a foundation of common, effective principles. We have extensive experience and resources in print media, small business "guerilla marketing" and Internet marketing ... and bring the best principles and strategies of all three together to provide your business or organization with a unified, comprehensive marketing/promotion plan. With the exception of perhaps Data Entry, Graphic Art & Design is at the core of almost every service we provide. Anything, whether it's a business form or a website, has to be "user-friendly" to be useful and practical. Years of experience in the design of business cards, letterheads, envelopes, forms, PowerPoint presentations, newspapers, magazines, books, websites, even television shows and videotapes have given us a unique background that covers virtually every design need the small business or organization could possibly have. We do not cater to large corporations because their needs are far more complex and require more personnel and equipment than we have. Our niche is the SBHO customer who does not have the money for elaborate four-color printing and multi-million-dollar mass mail campaigns. We are flooded in a glut of information - much of it trivial, yet a good part of it extremely vital to our business or organization. Our challenge is to organize the information we must have and depend on in a way that is easy to understand and easy to use. The KISS Principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid!) is our guiding principle, one even the largest, best-run corporations often stray away from. Too often, the most-touted tools are not the simplest or best to use for your needs. We are able to create the databases most of our clients need, using off-the-shelf software such as Filemaker Pro™ - far easier to use than Microsoft. Data entry is one of the more mundane tasks of the business world, yet it's vital if we want to keep up with the inflow of information about our products, services, vendors, customers, industry, etc., etc. A lot of times we get behind. Our regular employees are too busy doing "real work" to keep up with it all, so it becomes smart to "farm it out" to someone who has special talents or expertise in data entry. It's quicker, it's cheaper and it keeps your own employees freed up for the work that brings in the income. Having worked with dozens of highly-qualified data entry personnel over the past few years, we recognize the importance of both speed and accuracy. With gasoline costs rising the way they are, more and more of these workers prefer to work either closer to home or from their home. We work with these employees, helping them find suitable work while at the same time reducing their own transportation expenses. This results in lower costs to you, the small business owner. Nine times out of ten, lawyers pay a secretary/clerk/typist less than $10 an hour to fill in the blanks on a computer-generated legal form ... then charge you upwards of $150-$300 an hour. The gap between the two is filled by paralegals, who have a better understanding of law than a secretary might, but are not lawyers. It is unlawful for any paralegal to act as an attorney or offer "legal advice or representation" and we strictly observe those restrictions. We maintain a large archive of state-specific forms for businesses and individuals. It is important to note that, legally, we cannot advise you on what forms or legal approach you need to take in regards to any specific situation. However, once you know what forms you need to fill out (incorporation, for example), we can then help you do that at a fraction of the cost. Writing, editing & proofreading of reports, news releases, etc.
At 19, he carried an Associated Press byline and in the years since has distinguished himself with an almost legendary writing career, either individually winning or assisting his newspapers to win numerous awards from their respective state press associations. For example, a few years ago he won an Investigative Journalism award from the Tennessee Press Association for a series in a Bellevue, TN newspaper which vindicated a doctor wrongly accused of attempted child rape.
This is the man who brings his enormous writing talents to bear on your behalf, and who is the founder and driving force behind the Phoenix Foundation. To learn more, read The Man Behind the Phoenix Foundation.
