Web Email Cloaker - Freeware Utility Generates Cloaked Email Links to Beat Spam-Spiders! |
How to encode your email address Enter your normal email address in the appropriate box. Then, copy the encoded text and paste into a no-frills word processor such as Notepad. Save that as a file, then copy and paste that text into your HTML code wherever you wish to place your email address on your web site. On a web site, it will appear to the reader as a normal email address and be used as always. But to the "spyder robots" that scan web pages looking for email addresses to use as spam, it will be much more difficult to "harvest" ... and that means much, much less spam for you! There is yet another method, by which normal text is converted into hexadecimal code, making it even harder yet for spammers. This can be found on a French website translated (sort of) into English by Google.
