Web Email Cloaker - Freeware Utility Generates Cloaked Email Links to Beat Spam-Spiders! |
Calendars and Clocks for Your Web Site Calendars can be a handy little feature for your web site, since it beats having to go down to the clock in the bottom right corner of your Windows System Tray, then going through a number of clicks to get a single-month calendar. If your site is for an organization or business that schedules appointments or events, it can be even better when it enables your members, clients or visitors to view and post events themselves. The coding to create such a calendar, however, can be a programmer's nightmare - and certainly beyond the reach of most beginning web designers. One of my favorite sources of "freebies" is Bravenet.com. They have a very useful calendar where you (and your visitors) can actually log on and post events. I have adapted it to use for a massage therapist who wants his clients to be able to post their own appointments day or night. They have a free version, which carries a small BraveNet ad, or you can get an ad-free version for about $55 a year. The free version places two small button links on your site; your visitor then goes away from your page to the BraveNet to view and interact with the calendar. With that said, here are some useful tips and free resources: From ScriptAsylum. com comes these impressive calendars: DynamicDrive.com has this page of calendar codes: You can also place a simple Date & Time stamp on your pages, though this may be less useful since the time and date is easily accessible at the bottom-right corner of most Window (and Mac) System Trays. Clocks are a bit different, as there are both analog and digital versions.
